My Story
I am a retired healthcare leader turned potter and live with my husband on several forested acres with a stream in the Pocono mountains in Pennsylvania. The greatest compliment I’ve gotten from friends or guests is that they feel “at home” when they come to visit. Is “home” a feeling or a place? I believe it is both. Our home is filled with unique pieces that were curated based on its function and the way we’ve connected to that item. In other words, the pieces are functional but bring a sense of joy, familiarity or peace when using it. The handmade quilt from my grandmother or the tools that bear the use of Pop’s hands on so many projects. I think that is why I’ve always been drawn to making pottery, it’s the ability to take a hunk of clay and make something that is not only functional but bears the marks of its creator and eventually takes on the memories of its owner; like that favorite mug you reach for in the morning.

I hope you enjoy using your new pottery as much as I've enjoyed creating it! I invite you to send me a picture of you using your new piece of pottery and I will upload it to the Mug Shot Gallery.
